How can I improve Brain Tumor Perfusion Scanning?1

The contrast injection plays an important role.
In comparison to stroke perfusion, tumor perfusion demands a good contrast enhancement as well as a contrast plateau. This increases the numerical stability of the patlak analysis.
To achive this plateau we recommend a bi-phasic contrast (CM) protocol:

1. 30 ml CM @ 5 ml/s
2. 30 ml CM @ 1 ml/s
3. 20 ml NaCl @ 1 ml/s

The high-concentrated CM is pre-heated and a 18 G needle is used.
